This glossary serves as a reference guide to the makers and patterns represented in my collection. Entries are organised first by known pattern numbers, followed by alphabetised items where no number has been recorded. Where a maker is known but the pattern is not, pieces are listed by item type. This archive is updated regularly as new information becomes available and as additional examples are identified.
Bagley & Co., founded in 1871 in Knottingley, West Yorkshire, began as a bottle‑making works before expanding into domestic glassware in the early 20th century. By the 1920s–30s, the firm had become one of Britain’s leading producers of Art Deco pressed glass, celebrated for its pastel frosts, geometric forms, and refined mould work. Their designs — including Wyndham, Grantham, and Queen’s Choice — helped define affordable elegance between the wars. Post‑1945, Bagley introduced ranges such as Crystaltynt, Jetique, and Crystopal, continuing to innovate in colour and form. Production carried on until the company’s closure in 1975, leaving a legacy cherished by collectors today.

Century Glass Works emerged in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, in the early 1930s, specialising in affordable pressed glass at a time when demand for decorative yet practical household wares was rising. Known for its clean moulded lines, pastel tints, and functional tableware, the firm produced a wide range of bowls, jugs, trinket sets, and utility pieces that echoed the broader Art Deco aesthetic of the period. Although never as large as neighbouring Yorkshire glasshouses, Century carved out a steady market through reliable quality and accessible pricing. Production continued into the post‑war years, after which the company gradually declined, leaving behind a modest but distinctive body of collectible British glass.
